Snapshots From Japan: Yasaka Pagota

Since many of us are still stuck in quarantine and dreaming of travel post COVID, we could all use a little digital getaway.

Sharing some of our favorite snapshots from our babymoon in Kyoto, Japan exactly one year ago at the beautiful Yasaka Pagota in the Higashiyama District. The architecture throughout this city is so serene and relaxing, I can't wait to go back someday (more here and here).

We stayed right at the base of this incredible Pagota and waking up to this view was so memorable. In addition to these photos, sharing a basic comfy outfit for prego mamas who will someday be on the go again some day below.

OOTD Kyoto

I was just over four months prego in these photos and I remember being obsessed with these comfy maternity jeans.

My first pregnancy, I didn't splurge on any maternity jeans but the second time around, I was all for it. I scooped up this pair from Madewell (linking to a couple of similar pairs below). I loved that the top of them is adjustable so that these pants can grow with you as your bump grows and you can shrink the waist back down to wear them after pregnancy too.

This basic outfit was perfectly comfy for walking all over Kyoto, especially as a prego mama to be. Linking to the white top, white sneaker, boyfriend blazer and sunnies below.I topped off this look with one of my fave hair styles for curly hair when traveling.

I slicked my hair back into a low ponytail right out of the shower. From there, I added clear rubber bands every couple of inches or so down my hair.  I loosened up each section to add more volume. This look takes about five minutes but it lasts all day and your hair looks perfectly wavy when you take out the rubber bands later on.
